prismatica hat
I’m wearing my Prismatica hat today. It’s one of my favorites. Knit with fingering weight yarn, it is especially suited for this time of year in Virginia. The pattern is really fun to knit, which probably explains why I have 3 samples of this design.
Prismatica features a crochet provisional tubular cast on, which is a nifty technique that I wanted to share with the knitting world. Then there’s a deep band of ribbing and a nice section of easy stockinette in the round before you finish off the hat with some simple decreases. As written, the fit is slouchy, which covers my messy bun nicely. If I am wearing my hair in a braid, I’ll turn up the brim for a more beanie-style look.
